Overview

Agvida is a supplier of scientific and technical driven solutions to the farming community. This includes and is not limited to fertilizers, seed, and crop protection. We provide and deliver innovative solutions that promote agricultural sustainability by improving soil health, plant health and crop quality and optimal yield.

We have access but not limited to straight chemical fertilizer, prescription fertilizer granular or dry mixes, liquid fertilizers and organic fertilizers. This offer also includes a cutting-edge range of bio-stimulants and biological products. By combining the four pillars of our fertilizer approach, we will give the grower the ability to improve crop health and nutrient uptake. We cater from the older, more traditional farming approach to the more technically inclined generation. This therefore includes the more health-conscious who want to grow and consume more organic and/or sustainable grown crops. For this reason, we put a strong emphasis on sustainable and regenerative agriculture and use Smart data to monitor growing crops in real-time. This is to identify and react to possible problems during the growing season with the utmost accuracy and timing.

Our Vision is to be an innovative plant and soil nutrition supplier that complements our customers' businesses by using state-of-the-art satellite technology to manage soil and crop fertility-enhancing technologies and innovation.

This, as well as a comprehensive range of independent agronomic services by the world-renowned DRIS system and Brookside Laboratory in the USA, plant nutrient scheduling in line with plant development, and the use of organic growth enhancers, enable us and our customers to manage the development of their crops optimally. As far as we are concerned, there are no silver bullets, but long-term success comes from combining everything we do.

The AgVida team is excited about the future and looks forward to helping our customers bring back ROI and profitability. This then includes the second and third bottom-line. AgVida works tirelessly to improve crop health and nutrition by optimally utilizing natural plant bio-stimulants, diverse communities of microorganisms, and the biochemical by-products they produce (e.g. organic acids, proteins, enzymes). It interacts with the plant-soil system to increase the availability and absorption of nutrients applied through fertilization or already present in the soil or crop residues.

We are constantly investing in trials across the country on all crops to show how the combination of these 4 pillars of fertility brings profitability back to commercial grain crop production.

Remote Sensing Technology

AgVida use our own crop monitoring platform that can give the grower, the buyer, us as the advisors, as well as the financier, daily insight into the crop and what is happening on the field in real-time. Risk management for both sides of the transaction.

We monitor the crop health through remote sensing technology which enables us to respond to a problem in a field before the farmer knows of the problem. We can actively manage risks for the farmer, the buyer and the financier.

AgVida can keep the buyer informed of when his veg will be harvested and when delivery can be expected to enable the retailers to better manage their buying strategies of fresh produce. This gives the retailers access to the full cold chain information and exact information on how the crop is grown to comply with Global GAP accreditation and other certifications. This is only to name a few. A history is then built from day of planting to post harvest to enable everybody to see what happened through the growth season.

We provide growers with the tools they need to increase productivity, sustainability, and profitability. But we also provide the financier with access to see where what is happening with his investment. We manage the risk of the financier with the boots on the ground, giving them the much-needed transparency to what their investment is allocated to. Every soil, leave and sap analysis, products applied, the applied product’s registrations, is right at their fingertips.

Expansion

We are rolling out a large footprint of agents in every province of South Africa.

The neighbouring countries are also being catered for with representatives in Zambia, Mozambique, Botswana & Namibia.

We are working closely with research companies internationally that can open markets to the UAE and the northern part of Africa and Europe.

Client Base

We have healthy relationships with retailers that have offtake agreements with farmers to help their growers produce a better-quality product with a better shelf life.

The service area under our current client base is close to 200,000ha of dryland and 12000 ha under irrigation with 5000ha of different veg and tree crops.

We cover the whole of South Africa and the neighbouring countries: Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zambia, Lesotho and Swaziland.

The Senior sales teams along with their appointed agents is situated in each of the nine provinces. We work closely with international agronomists from the likes of BW Fusion in the USA and Canada to share data across continents to try to better understand nature and how we can mimic what she has done all her existence so successfully.
